Just after 9 AM on May 20th, Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Vol Fire Department for a MVC with Rollover. Crews arrived on scene to find a vehicle that had been hit by a tractor trailer and had rolled. The occupant of the vehicle was out of the vehicle and walking around. No patients were transported and crews were on scene for approx 30 mins.

On August 21st at approx. 9:30pm Sharptown was alerted for a accident with injuries at the intersection of Main St and the Bypass. Firefighters and EMS arrived on scene of a 2 vehicle accident. Assisting Laurel with a house fire on Shockley Rd
On August 9th, while Station 71 Blades was standing by for the Carnival, a severe thunder and lighting storm came through the area. Laurel, Sharptown and Delmar Fire Departments were alerted for a house fire on Shockley Rd. Captain T. Bowden arrived on scene with Utility 14 and advised heavy smoke coming from the house. Both occupants were out of the house when firefighters arrived. Firefighters put two hand-lines in service from Engine Tanker 71 and put a supply line out to the main road.
