Assisting Laurel with a house fire on Shockley Rd
On August 9th, while Station 71 Blades was standing by for the Carnival, a severe thunder and lighting storm came through the area. Laurel, Sharptown and Delmar Fire Departments were alerted for a house fire on Shockley Rd. Captain T. Bowden arrived on scene with Utility 14 and advised heavy smoke coming from the house. Both occupants were out of the house when firefighters arrived. Firefighters put two hand-lines in service from Engine Tanker 71 and put a supply line out to the main road. Units were on scene for just over an hour. Thanks to Wayne Barrall of Hit The Plug for the photos.
