Having a busy start to 2018

At 0251 Hours on Dec 5, 2011, Sharptown Fire Department, along with Station 81 Laurel and Station 9 Mardela were alerted for a structure fire at 708 Fourth Street. Crews arrived to find a garage fully involved with multiple exposures.  The situation was placed under control at 0306 hours and all units cleared at 0553 Hours.  The fire marshalls office was called and the home next to the blaze suffered heavy damage to the siding. Around 11am on January 18, Stations 9 (Mardela), 5 (Hebron), and 14 (Sharptown) were alerted for a building fire at the corner of Main St. and Bridge St in Mardela. Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the building. Engine Tanker 1402 and Engine 1404 both responded to assist.  A draft was setup at the boat ramp in Mardela. Additional crews were called in from Delmar and Linkwood. Blades was called for a cover-up in Sharptown and was called to the scene to assist. Crews were on scene for appoximately 3 hours.
