On March 18, Sharptown Fire Department assisted Station 26 Eldorado-Brookview with a controlled burn on a chicken house.

Tradition is defined as “a long-established action or pattern of behavior in a community or group of people, often one that has been handed down from generation to generation”. The Maryland State Arts Council presented the 7th annual Maryland Traditions 2013 ALTA (Achievement In Living Traditions & Arts) awards with the ALTA/TRADITION being OYSTER FRITTERS OF THE SHARPTOWN FIREMEN’S CARNIVAL presented by Cindy Byrd of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art.
Sharptown assists Mardela Fire Department
Around 11am on January 18, Stations 9 (Mardela), 5 (Hebron), and 14 (Sharptown) were alerted for a building fire at the corner of Main St. and Bridge St in Mardela. Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the building. Engine Tanker 1402 and Engine 1404 both responded to assist. A draft was setup at the boat ramp in Mardela. Additional crews were called in from Delmar and Linkwood. Blades was called for a cover-up in Sharptown and was called to the scene to assist. Crews were on scene for appoximately 3 hours. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshals office.

Car rolled over on Norris Twilley Rd.
On October 9th, just before 5:30PM,Wicomico Central alerted Sharptown Fire Dept. of a accident with rollover on Norris Twilley Rd. Firefighters and EMS arrived to find a single vehicle on its roof, with the occupant out of the vehicle. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle while EMS personnel checked out the patient and obtained a refusal. Units cleared the scene by 6PM.
